Denisse is a mother, artist, and lover of working with and wearing color.
I first fell for Denisse when I stumbled onto her insta and was like "holy shit, this woman's style is impeccable." She wears color with so much confidence that it all looks effortless which is my definition of style.
Then I saw her paintings and was blown away. I love them all so much and the way she uses color in her them is absolutely beautiful.
I asked Denisse a few questions about color, her paintings, and her guilty pleasure.

Favorite color or color combo right now?Â
Favorite color or color combo right now?Â
Forever a fan of blue and red together- but green and blue is always a win!
What are some of your favorite follows on instagram for color or just inspo?
I follow a ton of fashion, design,  and architecture pages. I get really inspired watching others create.
My current favorites are @admagazine, @obsolete, @designboom, @vogue, &  @lawnparty.Â

Tell me a little bit more about your paintings? What inspires you to create these beautiful pieces you paint?
I make very colorful pieces ha!Â
I've been doing contemporary portraits since 2011.I mostly get inspired by the subject's backstory and their facial structure. Once I know a bit more about who I'm painting I get a better feel of what colors should be used.

What are you reading, watching, and or listening to right now?
Just finished binging Succession!!!! That was amazing- they managed to close the chapters so nicely.
I read more than I watch tv - currently finishing "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell " by Susanna Clarke, loving it.(She wrote Piranesi, which is one of my favorite books I read during Covid)
What feels luxurious to you right now?
The definition of luxurious changed a ton after I became a mom! haha!
Quiet time or a date with my husband sounds and feels luxurious to me :)
